Five days out from July 3rd. The build was almost done. This was not a good day. Fifteen minutes, live on Twitch, because the cameras were already on and showing up mattered more than what showing up looked like.
What This Is
Bonus Life Stream 13 is a short update session — not a full build night, not a long technical run. It’s fifteen minutes of checking in, taking stock, and being honest about where the build stood with less than a week to go before the giveaway stream.
Some days in a long project are like this. The work is still getting done, the deadline is still real, and the camera still goes on because that’s what you said you’d do. This is one of those sessions.
The Build at This Stage
By June 28th the Bonus Life N64 was deep into final assembly: the clear shell was cut and fitted for the LCD screen, the WS2812B LED strip was wired and locked in, the RGB mod was done on both consoles. The BlueRetro Bluetooth module still needed to go in before July 3rd. So did final testing and packaging.
Rough days happen. The build still shipped.
The Full Series
If you’re following the complete Bonus Life build from the beginning, the full playlist is on the channel. Each stream covers a specific phase of the rebuild — teardown, capacitor replacement, RGB mod, Bluetooth, LED wiring, shell work, and final assembly.
Rob streams live repairs and builds every Tuesday and Saturday at 7pm Eastern on Twitch. The Bonus Life N64 build — a complete custom Nintendo 64 rebuilt from scratch and given away July 3rd, 2026 — was the current main series.
